1. The first step is a photo session outdoors in directional lighting. (Please see the "Taking your own photos" page if I am not there to do the photography.)
   
   

2. After I've had a chance to review and process the photo session images, I will consult with you on several of the best photos, and will ask you to choose one as the basis for your Decidedly Different pet portrait.
   
   

3. I will then create your beautiful work of art. The timing of this depends on where you are in the queue of commissions; we will discuss this beforehand.
   
   

4. After creating your scratchboard, I'll email you an image of the artwork for any corrections or your final approval.
   
   

5. Once you've approved the final artwork, I'll sign the piece and finish it with fixative and, if you have requested, frame the image. (Please see the "Framing" page for more information and tips, even if I am not framing the image for you).
   
   

6. Then, wait for your treasure to arrive!
